The FoRB & Foreign Policy Initiative (FoRB&FPI) is an interdisciplinary research network of academics based at University of Sussex with expertise on issues related to Freedom of Religion or Belief. FoRB&FPI aims to advance the policy discussion on the challenges and opportunities of advancing FoRB regionally, internationally and through foreign policy.

The launch of FoRB&FPI took place on 4 April 2017 in a public Symposium at the University of Sussex on ‘The Influence of Religion in Global Politics: From the Global Crisis of Freedom of Religion or Belief to Violent Extremism’ co-organised with the Foreign & Commonwealth Office and the All-Party Parliamentary Group for International Freedom of Religion or Belief in the UK.

FoRB&FPI is directed by Dr Fabio Petito (International Relations) and involves Dr Stephanie E. Berry (Law), Dr Synne Dyvik (IR), Dr Ozcan Keles (Human Rights), Christopher Mcdermott (Philosophy) and Andrew Dickson (Programme Coordinator).
