The FoRB & Foreign Policy Initiative (FoRB&FPI) is an interdisciplinary research network of academics based at University of Sussex with expertise on issues related to Freedom of Religion or Belief. FoRB&FPI aims to advance the policy discussion on the challenges and opportunities of advancing FoRB regionally, internationally and through foreign policy.

The launch of FoRB&FPI took place on 4 April 2017 in a public Symposium at the University of Sussex on ‘The Influence of Religion in Global Politics: From the Global Crisis of Freedom of Religion or Belief to Violent Extremism’ co-organised with the Foreign & Commonwealth Office and the All-Party Parliamentary Group for International Freedom of Religion or Belief in the UK.

FoRB&FPI is directed by Dr Fabio Petito (International Relations) and involves Dr Stephanie E. Berry (Law), Ozcan Keles (Human Rights), Christopher Mcdermott (Philosophy) and Andrew Dickson (Programme Coordinator).
